When I was younger, there were no pier nor ports in our province. We'd take the loooooongest ride of our life. So I imagine my surprise when I heard the news! They're building airports and pier within the island. Whoooh! That's a big step! Having ports like these would mean more people and products coming in. More tourist means business opportunities! When I got back to Samar after college, I have imagined so many changes in the island. I was really amazed at how things have changed ~ beginning with the electricity. But when I saw the pier, i was shocked to see that after 1 year as promised, it's still not fully finished. What do you expect from the government? hmm... ( Sorry, ang tibak side ng UP lumalabas.. hehehe ) It's only after another year when I came back that we saw a greater difference. Hey, it's better late than never. I'm just waiting for the final day when this pier would be fully functional.
Of course, eventually, I dream of a bigger opportunity in this island. Not because I have political concerns :p but I wish people would aim higher and look at the things in a bigger picture ;)
